With Christian Academy of Louisville clinching their first football State Title last year, students & adults following Christian Academy football this season, all have an intriguing question on their mind: will the fighting Centurions repeat as State Champions this year?
With only a handful of games standing in the way of a State Championship, “These last three games will come down to whichever team wants it more.” Said a Centurion football player who spoke with anonymity. He added, “Now that our quarterback, Austin Carr, has returned, we have a very good chance of repeating as State Champions; especially because almost everyone has bought into the idea that we will repeat.”
With a record of 9 wins and 2 losses, there are very few issues that this team has had to persevere through. One persistent problem this year has been injuries & suspenions. With several key players failing drug tests and falling victim to injuries, the Centurions mightily struggled towards the latter-half of this special season.
With a big game against DeSales on November 17th, the Centurions hope to derail their biggest rival in order to reach the State Semifinals the following week on November 24th.
Winning the State Game would be great,” added the anonymous player. “This whole team has worked their butts off since summer started, just to be in this position.” With former University of Louisville & veteran NFL quarterback, Stefan Lefors, at the helm of this team, the sky seems to be the limit for the remainder of this season.
